Eden Hazard has admitted he will sign a contract extension at Chelsea if the West London club improve in their transfer dealings this summer. Hazard, whose contract expires in 2020, has attracted interest from Real Madrid in the past and has previously admitted playing under Zinedine Zidane would be a ‘dream’.

Antonio Conte’s side have struggled to defend the Premier League title this season, finishing fifth and missing out on Champions League football and fans have become annoyed at the Italian’s defensive style, particularly in their loss to Manchester City at the Etihad.

However, Hazard has offered Chelsea fans some hope that he may extend his contract this summer, provided they bring in sufficient summer signings to help them compete next season. Speaking to BBC Sport, the Belgian said: “I’m waiting for new players next season. I want good players because I want to win the Premier League next season.”

Despite a disappointing season, Chelsea can still win a trophy by beating Manchester United in the FA Cup final this weekend which will see Hazard face former Blues boss José Mourinho. By doing so, the 27-year-old admits it will ‘save Chelsea’s season’.

“We’re Chelsea. we need trophies at the end of the season. At the moment we have nothing,” Hazard admitted. “We have not qualified for the Champions League. So the season has been bad. If we can’t be in the Champions League, we need the trophy.”

“It’s up to us to save the season with the FA Cup. I’ve never won the FA Cup and I hope this year is for me and for Chelsea. We will give everything.”
