Monaco midfielder Tiemoué Bakayoko has reportedly rejected talks for a contract extension with AS Monaco as multiple clubs target the highly-rated 22-year-old, according to the Metro.

Antonio Conte was said to have made a move for Bakayoko in January, but with Monaco leading Ligue 1 and in fine form, the Frenchman didn’t wish for a mid-season switch to England. However, as Le Parisien report, via the Metro, Bakayoko would be open for a move to England at the end of the season after rejecting the chance to extend his contract.

Despite ruling out a move to England, in December, Bakayoko admitted the Premier League makes him dream:

“Friends told me about the interest from other clubs, but I don’t pay it any attention. I’ve had a good first six months but the season is not over. I won’t leave Monaco this winter, that’s for sure. I don’t want to leave. ASM are a beautiful club.”

“Certainly the Premier League makes you dream but I have no reason to leave this winter. Today, I have two goals: to finish as a champion in France and to go as far as possible in the Champions League.”

The midfielder’s contract currently ends in 2019, meaning clubs such as Manchester United and Chelsea would have to pay quite the fee to tempt Monaco to sell the player, with reports suggesting the French club would demand around £35m for their star man.
