New Chelsea boss Antonio Conte will ‘probably win the league’ if the players understand what he wants, according to Alessandro Del Piero. Conte, 46, was highly praised for his team’s performances during Euro 2016, most seen as they beat European champions Spain 2-0. The Italian played with three centre-halves, which complimented their defensive organisation.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Del Piero said “‘He’s a good guy, he loves to work a lot. ‘If he has a chance to talk to players in the right way, and if they understand what he wants, Chelsea can have a very good season and probably win the title.

Del Piero also suggested it won’t be easy to claim the title, with the likes of Klopp, Mourinho, Guardiola, Wenger, Pochettinho and Ranieri all looking to claim the prize.

“It is not easy.” he said, “The Premier League is amazing this year in terms of players and coaches, but he has a chance.’

Del Piero wasn’t the only person to praise Conte this week, with new Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola saying”He is a master tactician. It’s going to be very interesting competing against him.”

Antonio Conte has already started assembling his title challenging squad with the addition of Michy Batshuayi from Marseille earlier this month, signing the Belgian forward for £33m. The likes of Bonnuci, Alex Witsel and Felipe Anderson have also been linked with Chelsea in the last few days and with the Euro’s now finished, we may be about to see many more players coming in.

The Italian’s first challenge will begin on the 15th August, as Chelsea take on West Ham at Stamford Bridge.
