Deadline Day is closing in on finishing and many teams are still getting their business done, with Allan Nyom joining West Brom not too long ago for a fee in the region of £4m, he will join Nacer Chadli who signed for a club record fee of £13m yesterday and loanee Brendan Galloway, who signed from Everton on the 22nd. Earlier this week Tony Pulis stated that he wants to sign 5 players by the end of the transfer window and he has almost delivered on this statement, with Hal Robson-Kanu set to join the Baggies, subject to a medical.
Just this second Sporting Lisbon striker Islam Slimani has passed his medical ahead of his move to Leicester City, the champions rumoured to be splashing £30m on the Algerian. Leicester also wanted to lure Adrien Silva from Sporting to join his teammate Slimani, however with just over two hours left in the window it’s looking unlikely that they’ll be able to sign him.
West Ham have signed former Liverpool and Real Madrid defender Alvaro Arbeloa on a free transfer and are also looking to offload striker Enner Valencia, following the signing of Simone Zaza earlier this week. Everton and Swansea were the two teams who were rumoured to be interested in the striker, with Everton being the most likely team to sign the frontman on loan.
In other news, out of favour Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere looks to be joining Bournemouth on a season long loan and Mario Balotelli has joined French team OGC Nice on a free transfer from Liverpool. West Brom and Crystal Palace are among the clubs interested in Everton’s James McCarthy and earlier on in the day Chelsea announced the return of Brazilian centre-back David Luiz.
