Arsenal News Transfer Rumours

Arsène Wenger has revealed that Arsenal are monitoring 18-year-old sensation Kylian Mbappé, although he is wary that other clubs with more financial power than the Gunners have a higher chance of landing the Frenchman.

Mbappé, who has scored 12 goals in 23 appearances in Ligue 1 this season, has topped the list of prospects in world football after an outstanding breakthrough season at AS Monaco. The French hitman bagged 5 goals across the two legs of Monaco’s Champions League quarter-final against Borussia Dortmund.

Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal are among those said to be interested in landing Mbappé, and those links will only grow stronger with Arsène Wenger’s latest comments. However, the 67-year-old has admitted Arsenal do not have the funds to overrule football’s financial super powers.

Speaking to SFR Sport, Wenger revealed: “Obviously it would be hypocritical and a lie to say that we are not looking at him.”

“But he’s already in the bracket of clubs who are, perhaps, much better financed than us.”
