Speaking ahead of Arsenal’s fixture against relegated side Sunderland tomorrow, Arsène Wenger has continued to talk about the clubs chances of getting Champions League football next season.

The Gunners currently sit in 5th in the league with 69 points, three points behind Manchester City in 4th and four points behind Liverpool in 3rd (but with a game in hand).

Should the North London side defy the odds and secure Champions League football next season, they require either Liverpool or Manchester City to drop points in their final fixture/s.

In today’s press conference, the Arsenal manager went on to say that:

“When you are a manager you want your team to give everything until the last moment. You hope that results go your way.”

“Some teams turn up, some teams are on holiday. You just want your team to play well. To be professional is to do your job well until the last day of the season.”

“To look into the mirror and say you did it properly is vital. If we don’t have the results I am disappointed but what is not excusable is to not give your best.”
