According to the Independent, Arsenal and Tottenham will try to prise Manchester City prospect Jadon Sancho away from the club following the 17-year-old’s omission from their tour of the US.

Despite being highly-rated in Manchester, Pep Guardiola decided against bringing Sancho to America, only adding to the doubt over his future which has been boiling for some time.

It’s been reported that City offered Sancho a new deal worth £30,000-a-week, the highest amount a 17-year-old has earned in English football’s history, but it is understood he has turned the offer down in the hunt for first team football and believes it’s something he will not earn anytime at the Etihad.

Now, with his future in doubt, the Independent believe Tottenham and Arsenal will battle it out for forward’s signature, with Tottenham even attempting to include Sancho in Kyle Walker’s transfer to Manchester City. However, is it understood that the Citizens will do everything possible to keep the youngster at the club and will even offer him an improved contract offer from the previous one.

Should Tottenham or Arsenal manage to persuade Sancho to join, they will have to match his current contract whilst also paying compensation to Manchester City due to the player being under the age of 21.
