Arsenal Chelsea Manchester City News Transfer Rumours

Premier League champions Chelsea and Manchester City have joined Liverpool in the race for versatile Arsenal player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. The Englishman currently has just one-year remaining on his current deal at the North-London side, with manager Arsene Wenger adamant of keeping him for the foreseeable future.

The versatile midfielder had his best season in an Arsenal shirt last season since joining from Southampton in 2011 for a fee in the region of £15 million. He was deployed in a variety of roles on the pitch including; winger, holding midfielder, right wing-back, and also, left wing-back, totalling six goals and 11 assists in 45 appearances.

However, the 23-year-old has made his intentions clear of having consistent first team football alongside playing regularly in a central-midfield role. The lack of talk regarding a new contract thus far is said to frustrate the player, something the club have also failed to do with a number of senior players such as Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil, and Aaron Ramsey.

Should a renewal between the two parties fail, there are a variety of suitors from top clubs looking for Oxlade-Chamberlain’s signature, but the London club will be reluctant to sell him to a rival club.
