Arsenal Ligue 1 News Tottenham Transfer Rumours

According to a variety of sources in England and France, promising AS Monaco attacker Thomas Lemar has delayed contract renewal talks with the Ligue 1 champions following increasing interest from the Premier League.

As of writing, fierce North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have been rumoured as the most likely of destinations for the Frenchman.

Monaco are said to be open to selling the wideman, but only if an offer of €30 million (£26m) is received. France team-mate Hugo Lloris has hinted that he has tried to persuade Lemar to choose Tottenham over a Monaco stay or a move to the red side of North London. “You are right to ask the question, but I cannot reply,” Lloris told reporters following France’s victory over England.

Lemar currently has three years remaining on his current contract but was initially being lined up for an improved deal for the important role he played in Monaco’s title winning season, where they also reached the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Taking into consideration that the exciting, versatile, attacker has delayed any talk of a new and improved contract, it signals that he could very well be tempted of the prospect of playing for either North London side in the Premier League next season.
