Arsenal News Transfer Rumours

Arsenal right-back, Héctor Bellerín, is reported to have informed manager Arsène Wenger that he intends to depart the club this summer, and rejoin former club FC Barcelona after they missed out on the Champions League. The North London club had a season to forget as they finished in 5th place, but a late run of form did bring in an FA Cup.

Bellerín, in particular, had arguably his worst season at the club since being promoted to the first team, with a change in system demoting the full-back to back up, with midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain taking his place as a wing-back. Surprisingly, the player even had fans indirectly chant that he was not “fit to wear the shirt” during a Premier League fixture against Crystal Palace, albeit others believe the chant was aimed at the entire team.

The Spanish defender did sign a new illustrious 5-year-deal with the club last summer, but now reportedly has his heart set on returning to Barcelona and even agreed personal terms with the Catalan club. If the rumours are true, the 22-year-old will have a meeting with Wenger next week to discuss his future, and hand in his transfer request.
