Arséne Wenger has revealed that star man Alexis Sanchez has been given time off training ahead of Arsenal’s FA Cup match against Sutton United due to a court case in Barcelona.
Sanchez grabbed Arsenal’s only goal in their demolition at the Allianz Arena, finishing his 3rd attempt after Manuel Neuer saved the Chilean’s spot-kick. Sanchez was seen flying out of Germany on his own yesterday and Wenger has revealed it is due to a court case held in Barcelona.
“He has a court case in Barcelona and he will be back in training tomorrow” said the Frenchman amid speculation surrounding the reason behind Alexis’ absence.
Wenger was also asked on the condition of defender Laurent Koscielny, following his injury in the 5-1 loss to Bayern Munich:
“I don’t know [how long he will be out], he has a scan today [Friday].”
The Arsenal boss went on to reveal his selection thoughts ahead of Arsenal’s tie with Sutton United in the FA Cup on Monday, which he went on to say:
“A normal team. I gave some youngsters a chance at Southampton because I think they deserved to play and have a good opportunity to come in for players who usually play, and I think they have done well. One or two might have another chance to say that they can play in every single game now.”
