Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez has revealed he feels ‘happy and important at the club, despite rumours linking him with a move away from North London.
Arsenal who have enjoyed a positive Premier League campaign thus far, sit in fourth after two defeats in a week set them back 9-points behind rivals Chelsea. Alexis Sanchez, who has been the Gunners man main this season after moving to a central position, has reportedly been in a contract dispute with the club over a pay rise he demands, but the club are yet to agree on the deal. The Chilean has been the subject of a £400,000-a-week offer from China, but the forward is expected to ignore the offer due to his wishes of maintaining a high standard of football.
Speaking to Arsenal Player, the 28-year-old revealed:
“I definitely feel like an important player and my teammates let me know every day,’ he told Arsenal Player. ‘I try to prove that I am an important player every day and game after game. I believe we have the players and the quality to win many things.”
“I feel really happy and comfortable at the club. I want to give the fans a new title. We always get our fans’ support in the thin and the thick, which is great. We must win the Premier League or the Champions League for them.”
Sanchez’s 12 goals and 6 assists in the Premier League this season ought to be enough to prove his value to the Gunners and whilst many fans are asking Arsenal to act like a big club and keep their star players, it’s now down to the club whether they can tie down Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Özil on long-term deals.
